BAGABAG PINEAPPLES

SWEET SOCIAL PROOF. Last year, while we were hunting for ube, we got lost and found ourselves at the Amballo Resettlement site in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. Hectares upon hectares of ripening pineapples, the sight and smell, we just had to stop, our search for ube completely forgotten. Pineapples so sweet the birds raid then, that’s the only social proof we needed. We loaded what we can in the car until the suspension protested and befriended the farmers with gifts of clothing. We have not stopped being friends ever since, and every year we have been helping in this special place.
