BOGO YELLOW CORN

LOLO ALFRED’S CORN. During our visit to his community, I saw Lolo Alfred sitting away from the happy crowd, looking pensive. I approached him and this was our interaction. Lolo Alfred is the man in the video, supplicating for his corn. We’re a regular customer of his corn, which we find superior and we all know that it is because of his lifelong experience growing it. He has a harvest coming in in three days time and we cannot wait. Before I focus on something that will take me away for hours, I’d like to put the link on the table for you to partake. THE PRODUCER SHOULD NOT BE A BEGGAR. Last January, Lolo Alfred, an 80-year old farmer from Villasis Pangasinan approached RuRi for help. In the video, in Ilokano , he pleaded, “Maawa kayo Mr. Ace. Tulungan niyo sana ako. Malaki na yung nalugi sa akin nung nagtanim ako ng Sweet Corn. Tulungan niyo ako.” A farmer shouldn’t be begging, he shouldn’t even be working considering his age and frail appearance.

We’d like to give the farmers P499 but please can you give P549 to cover the wage of harvesters (the “sisiwit boys”) and the truck to take the corn back to Manila? Again, it’s P549 for 10 kilos.
