TULONG SA TALONG. I know it’s evening now and we should be resting but this one weighs hot and heavy on our minds. I am really hoping it’s not too late. I hope enough members see this.

Our fervent prayer to you is for Tatay Nanding Estrino, a TALONG farmer from Piaz, Villasis, Pangasinan. He is 62 years, 10 years now a widower, his memory long faded. “Ulyanin” that’s what they call him, that’s why traders take advantage of him. On more than one occasion, they would force him to “remember” a lowball price by saying “Sinabi mo kanina, ito ang presyo.” Tatay Nanding could not remember and because of this he would be forced to give his produce. Kahit lugi. Several harvests now, it’s been like this. Sobra naman na. His neighbor, one of our farmers, took pity on him and told us about his sad situation. Tomorrow, Tatay Nanding will be harvesting Talong and it will be the same thing all over again. My goodness!

This is Tatay Nanding. How much he needs help, and we are not talking about his Talong. Please can this be our last collective deed tonight?

TALONG RESCUE BUY. We are looking for Rural Rising members who would support a small effort for 300 kilos of Talong. It’s P400 for 10 kilos, freshly-harvested, mixed sizes. Spoilage Policy: You must claim your produce within one day of the dispatch date as indicated above. We are unable to store your produce for long but we shall not allow it to spoil. What a tragedy to save the produce from one place only to allow it to spoil in another, right? We shall donate it in your name to the community pantries and to our feeding program in Tondo. Please understand that we shall neither entertain requests to replace your produce at a later date nor substitute it for another produce. For failure to claim your produce, your payment is essentially forfeited.

Due to variances in individual size and weight, the sheer volume of produce we handle, and conditions and handling while in transit to you, we cannot guarantee exact weight. Expect small discrepancies but be ready to be surprised if you get more than you ordered. If you get less, please know that it was not our intention give you less.
