NICE BA? This is our Vegetable Buying and Packing Center in Camp Mingan, in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. We’re able to mobilize the backyard farmers in Brgys. Pinamalisan, Bugnan and Ligaya to bring their vegetables to us. We pay them better prices than if they bought them to Sangitan Bagsakan in Cabanatuan City, a 2 hour trip away. How could they resist this? Here we are repacking them to make vegetable packs. Look at this: 1/2 kilo sitaw, 1/2 kilo okra, 1 kilo kalabasa, 1/2 kilo talong and 1/2 kilo amplaya (3~3.5 kilos). It’s P350 per pack. This effort also gives jobs to farmer wives in the area for helping us pack and sort. Would you like to donate some vegetables? A pack, perhaps two?
This week’s main recipient is a group of REBEL RETURNEES called the Samahang Nagkakaisa Tungo sa Bagong Pag-asa. This pandemic does not make any distinction about class or political standing, and we are not one to ask questions but only to help. The families in this group are not in a good way and we were made aware of their situation by one of the Army soldiers who helped ferry our latest donation to Brgy. Tatalon. “Sir, ma’am, ipapakiusap ko din po sana, kung may cobra lang po, and mga pamilya ng mga rebel returnees nakatira sa Bagon Pagasa” those were the words spoken to us.
When we said we shall try to help, the group sent us this letter. Will you consider helping them by giving a pack or two?
We thank you for your kind and gentle hearts. May you have beautiful Sundays today.
